Initially termed as Test Tube Baby, IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is a scientific treatment of male and female infertility that requires the extraction of liable eggs (ovum) from a woman’s ovary and combining them with the male sperms for fertilization to occur.
The formed embryo is cultured for at least 3 days, after which it is transferred to the woman’s womb via her vagina for implantation. Precisely the IVF treatment is based on the fact of transferring more than one embryo into the woman’s womb to increase chances of conception.
At Sofat Infertility Centre, a leading IVF Centre in Jalandhar, the treatment is conducted via transparency elaborating various concerns involved in egg retrieval, transfer of the embryos, sperm analysis, additional techniques such as Laser Assisted Hatching among others
With a series of attempts prior to 1978 in which the first IVF birth was registered, the treatment has emerged as the best approach for combating the hiking rates of infertility with 50 million couples globally confirmed to be infertile according to WHO
