There isn’t a definite length of IVF treatment procedures as patients differ from one to another and as well, may require at multiple treatment cycles for conception. However, a normal IVF treatment cycle is generally expected to last for a period of 8 weeks.
The IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) treatment is considered to be a ladder at our IVF Centre in Chandigarh as there are a series of steps to take before conceiving and delivering a live baby.
IVF Treatment By Week
1st Week
The first week is utilized for attaining crucial information about the entire procedure; defining the highs & lows, cost, body evaluation, determining alternatives among others. Following the fertility expert’s advice highly benefits patients by cutting the extreme costs.

2nd – 4th Week
Prior to the actual treatment, a series of laboratory tests are performed in addition to the ultrasound procedures. In case required, you will undergo surgery (laparoscopy) to correct vital organs like the Fallopian tubes. Tests performed include;
AMH
Rubella
HIV
Anticardiolipin antibody screening
Prolactin among others
Ultrasound procedures for;
Uterine Evaluation (morphology)
Endometrial thickness
Antral follicle count
A semen analysis is conducted (males).
Depending on the results, a female will begin taking birth control pills to regulate her menstrual cycle for at least 3 weeks.
5th Week
It is one of the major steps in IVF characterized with numerous appointments and taking the prescribed hormonal drugs. Clomid is an immediate fertility drug for some women, while others will require Gonadotropin or a combination of the two.
During your office visits, our specialists will monitor and track your follicular development.
7/8th Week
During this period, mature eggs are collected and combined with the male sperms. Embryos are screened and cultured, after which viable ones are transferred to the woman’s uterus for implantation.
