Surgical treatment

The low sperm count could be due to an infection. Effective treatment of the infection can be done through various medical procedures.

Your sperm count may be low due to less secretion of hormones. Medicines and hormone injections can be helping in increasing the sperm count. It may require a long time to show the results.

Surgical extraction
If you have a low sperm count, your sperm may be extracted surgically for using in IVF procedure or ICSI (Intracytoplasmic sperm injection). At the IVF centre, the sperm is used to fertilize the egg after extraction. The egg is also extracted from the woman’s body for the process of fertilization which takes place in the lab. In case ICSI is being conducted, the sperm is directly injected into the female partner. In either case, the sperm will either be extracted from the ejaculate or obtained through surgical extraction.

Lubrication? No dear
Using lubricants might be good for your love life but certainly not for successful conception. Certain lubricants restrict the movement of the sperm and the chances of conception might be greatly reduced if you have a low sperm count.

Timing is crucial
If your partner has worked out her most fertile window according to her ovulation cycle, having sex daily in the most fertile period will increase the chances of conception. But be careful, doing so for more than 3-4 days can have quite the opposite effect.
