        Millions of women across the globe find it hard to conceive generally because of PCOS. Although PCOS isn’t a deadly medical condition, untreated PCOS can trigger infertility, diabetes, pregnancy and delivery complications. Truth be told, there are a number of ways through which PCOS can be treated and in case of infertility, there are advanced reproductive technologies to help you conceive.

        Understanding PCOS

        Understanding PCOS

        PCOS is fully described as “Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome” and currently, 5.5 million women are believed to have PCOS. The main cause of PCOS isn’t known, but fertility experts believe that it is a hormonal issue. The problem will manifest itself in case male sex hormones increase in a woman’s body. As a result, a woman may develop cysts in the ovaries and get several menstrual issues such as anovulation and irregular periods. Symptoms of PCOS may include;

        • Acne

        • Increased body hair

        • Irregular menstrual cycles

        • Weight gain

        • Female pattern baldness

        PCOS & Infertility

        PCOS & Infertility

        Most women are able to conceive with a combination of treatment and lifestyle modifications. The available treatment approaches are provided after a doctor’s evaluation. PCOS treatment can range include;

        Clomid Treatment & PCOS

        Almost every PCOS patient is initially treated with Clomid to facilitate conception. When it comes to PCOS patients, a combination of Clomid and Metformin is provided to reduce the insulin levels that make the ovaries produce more male hormones. Similarly, the drug also helps to correct ovulation disorders to help a woman get pregnant.

        However, some women may experience what we call Clomid resistance, meaning that other treatment approaches must be developed.

        • Metformin

        It is a common medication given to diabetic patients and this drug helps to control sugar levels. It can be used alongside Clomid.

        • Gonadotropins

        This PCOS treatment approach consists of FSH “Follicle-stimulating hormone” and LH “Luteinizing hormone” or both. Gonadotropins can be taken orally together with its injections or injections alone. In other cases, your menstrual cycle may be followed with the help of Gonadotropins to treat infertility. Gonadotropins & IUI “intrauterine insemination” is also a common approach of treating PCOS

        • Letrozole

        When Clomid and Gonadotropins fail to help a woman conceive, Letrozole comes in as the next treatment approach. Letrozole is a cancer treatment, but has actually proved effective in treating PCOS. The drug works by stimulating ovulation for pregnancy to occur.

        • Weight Loss & Diet

        For some, diet and weight loss are effective when it comes to PCOS treatment. In some cases, weight loss and dietary approaches are used in combination with Clomid. Women with extra weight can rely on dietary approaches and physical exercises to shed some weight. A healthy diet will help reduce blood sugars, which generally increase the risk of diabetes.

        • Lifestyle Modifications

        These are suggested depending on your lifestyle. The doctor may require you to sleep for more hours, exercise regularly, stop smoking, avoid polluted zones, and to monitor your weight.

        Infertility Induced by PCOS & ART

        Infertility Induced by PCOS & ART

        PCOS is the common problem in the women and becomes the major cause of infertility. There are large numbers of the women who think that they cannot conceive of this problem. But the modern science has been developed so much. There are latest treatments like IUI, IVF etc. you don’t need to do so much, and you just refer the best IVF centre in India for obtaining the best PCOS treatment.

        Most of the surgeons recommend the IUI treatment. IUI treatment is usually provided at the time of the ovulation. Actually, PCOS is the disease that is related to the ovulation issues. Sometimes, the qualities of the eggs to be formed are not meeting the desired standard of the ovulation.

        If the conception does not happen in the IUI cycle, then gynecologist mostly recommend the IVF cycle. Then the sperm and the retrieval of the egg are planned accordingly. Most of the gynecologist goes with the ICSI in order to attain the most successful fertilization process. With this process, a healthy embryo is transferred to the mother’s womb. In this way, the childless couple with PCOS problem helps to achieve their healthy baby.

        Having PCOS doesn’t mean you can’t conceive. Millions of women have had children, despite having complicated infertility cases like blocked Fallopian tubes, unexplained infertility and uterine disorders. Meet a good IVF doctor for the right treatment.
