Eggs, Fertility and Age - The Connection

Eggs, Fertility and Age – The Connection

by adminon 14 June 2019in infertility

        Quick Enquiry

Issue of infertility rise because of different factors like a health-related issue, lifestyle factors, and also the age. With age, the quality of egg decreases which makes it difficult to conceive. So it means the age, egg, and fertility are connected. In this guide, we will let you know about this connection in detail.

Fertility issue is becoming more common every year. This is very true that with age the fertility declines. Additionally, with age as bones, skin, and other body parts gets affected. Actually, the age and egg quality are the primary reason for the decline in fertility as women age. This is the reason women at the age of 50 or 60  are not able to conceive naturally.

You might know this that when a woman is born she has all the egg inside her ovaries for a lifetime. So, this means the age of the egg is the same as that of women age. Around one million or two million egg is known as primary oocytes (egg).

But, these are not the eggs at the starting point and they are in a protection follicle which waits for the hormone that they hit puberty.

As time passes, the eggs die continuously. As a girl reaches her puberty around 3,00,000 to 5,00,000 eggs are left. Rest of them gets absorbed in the body in a natural way which is known as atresia.

How the eggs are divided into the body?

Almost all the cells in the body have two type of structure known as a chromosome. The chromosome has DNA which includes our genetic information. In the human body, there are 23 different pair of a chromosome which have 46 chromosomes in each cell. When the oocyte divides, it forms two copies of the chromosome. When the cell division of oocyte happens it is referred to as an egg. 23 chromosome in total is present for a sperm cell. This way, the egg, and the sperm meet, as well as the fuse which result in fertilization and the embryo, is developed. The specials division starts at puberty and the oocytes which are sleeping gets awake.

What if the eggs are of poor quality?

When oocyte division is going on mistakes in cell division can occur. Sometimes when the chromosome pair does not get separated then sperm cells can get into 24 instead of 23. With age, the cell division issue is more which result in chromosomal dysfunction.

Due to this, women face the issue of infertility. In case you are experiencing a problem then you should visit the doctor for infertility treatment. If you are facing problem then you can visit our IVF centre for the treatment. The cell division issue will not let the egg to be fertilized properly and can also lead to miscarriage.
