Thinking about egg freezing Here are things you must know

Everything That You Must Know About Egg Freezing

by adminon 5 July 2019in freezing, IVF

Infertility is the most annoying problem or condition which is faced by the majority of people these days due to a certain type of health conditions, hormonal changes, and genetic factors. In these situations you can freeze your eggs in order to save them for the future and if you want to conceive later. In this guide we are going to tell you everything about egg freezing.

Egg freezing means you are storing your eggs for the future use or if you wish to conceive late due to some factors. Well, this is also useful for those who are suffering from a certain type of health problems. This is also an option of infertility treatment, which is performed in the IVF centre. You need to know each and everything related to egg freezing in advance.

Here are some important points you need to consider while planning to freeze your eggs for future use.

This procedure is not covered by insurance

You need to understand that insurance does not cover the cost of egg freezing treatment. But many people create a misconception about this treatment option that this is covered by insurance. No this is not true that egg freezing is covered by insurance, you need to pay the cost of egg freezing treatment by yourself. In addition to this, you must focus on quality not on quantity and do not focus on money or cost which you have to pay for this treatment option.

There is no age restriction

yes, you can freeze or store your eggs at any age, there is no such age restriction. But you need to understand at what age you can freeze your eggs. If you are at your 30s then you can freeze your eggs because at that age you are able to produce healthy eggs. So, according to our senior doctor, this is the right age to freeze eggs, but prior to egg freezing process, your doctor will examine hormone levels and your health condition whether you are able to produce healthy eggs or not.

It is a good option if you have certain health conditions

Yes, this is a completely good option if you are suffering from a certain type of health conditions. In addition to this, people who are suffering from cancer and undergoing cancer treatment known as chemotherapy are the people who are eligible for egg freezing. And we strictly recommend them to freeze or store their eggs in advance prior to surgery. Since this is the most important option which gives you hope to conceive later in life.

Moreover, if you have PCOS or premature ovarian failure then you must go for egg freezing because this is the best option for you and your partner as well.

Everything You Need To know About Embryo Transfer

Everything You Need To know About Embryo Transfer

by adminon 6 June 2019in freezing

Infertility is indeed disheartening news for the couple as well as the family involved. It is nobody’s fault really if you are suffering from the condition. A few decades ago, infertile couples had no other alternative except adopting, but the scenario today has changed. The couple can dream and realize their dream of having their own biological child. This has been made possible by the advent of new medical technologies like IVF, which work especially for the infertility treatment. To find out where the nearest ( and the best ) IVF center is located near you. One such technique which is useful in providing a ray of hope to the infertile couples is frozen embryo transfer. It is a comparatively new technique.

The process of frozen embryo transfer

In this process, the embryo of the fertile female is extracted from the womb by fertility experts. After the extraction, the eggs are frozen through cryopreservation or using liquid nitrogen. These eggs can be preserved for many days and months. The eggs can be thawed later on when the couple requires them. Women get their eggs frozen so that they can use these eggs later on when they are less fertile due to aging. They can use these embryos in the IVF treatment.

One who might not be able to carry their baby in their womb might use the services of a surrogate mother to give birth to their child. In case the male partner also suffers from a problem, donor sperm may be used.

Success and failure

The procedure generally yields high success rates, provided that the technique is carried out by experts. Proper care must be taken to ensure and maintain the viability of the eggs until the time they are used. If the viability of eggs is low, there are low chances of pregnancy.

The cost of the procedure

The cost varies according to the duration for which the embryo is kept frozen. If the embryo is supposed to be kept frozen for a long period, the cost will be high. If you opt for a short duration, then the cost may be affordable. If you want the services for a long duration, then, of course, the cost will be higher.

The concluding note

As we have already stated that every problem has a solution and today’s infertile couples have a vast variety of options for them as compared to the couples of the past years. The beauty of IVF treatment method is that it is possible for infertile couples to have their biological child whether they are able to produce eggs or sperms or not. It even acts as a boon to those who are unable to carry their baby in the womb. What else could an infertile person ask for?

Let us understand the basic difference between slow freezing and vitrification

Let us understand the basic difference between slow freezing and vitrification

by adminon 31 December 2018in freezing, IVF, vitrification

Slow freezing and vitrification both are the techniques used for the IVF process. However, only a handful of hospitals or centers use these techniques for IVF treatment in India but both are very beneficial for the woman who has issues with their ovulation but wants their babies.

During the IVF process female eggs are retrieved and kept with the male sperm in the Petri dish for fertilization and further successful pregnancy after the implantation of developed embryo but there are some women who suffer due to less number of egg production or due to production of low-quality eggs means they do not have the eggs which can be used for fertilization then such women go for freezing or donor eggs.

Slow freezing and vitrification

These are basically two methods of preserving the female eggs for further use as per the wish of the patient.  If we talk about the vitrification then it is the flash freezing technique and is the modern method of preserving the eggs but if we talk about the slow freezing then as the name suggests it is the slower process of freezing eggs and it is also the traditional method of preserving eggs.

Slow freezing

During the slow freezing method, the cell is cooled down very slowly at the decrease of 3-2 degree Celsius per minute and it is decreased until it reaches to the final storing temperature of the egg that is -196 degree Celsius or about -320 degree Fahrenheit. It is the ideal temperature for the preservation of egg so that without any loss of any of its quality factor it can be used for further pregnancies. This whole technique finishes in a couple of hours and in this process the all biological processes cease inside the cell preserved due to hours of processing time it is called slow freezing or controlled rate or slow programmable process of egg preservation.

Vitrification

As discussed above it is also known as a flash freezing process of egg preservation so it is the speedy method as compared to the slow freezing. In this technique egg cools down so quickly an reaches to the ideal point of freezing -196 degree Celsius and at this point the egg becomes glass-like or vitrified and even it is the process of few minutes that is why it is known as flash freezing.

Thus the basic difference between both the techniques is the speed as in the older technique processing time is of few hours but in the modern, it is of few minutes so this difference of processing time differentiates both the methods of egg preservation. Even some studies have claimed that modern method is better as they claim that time can destroy some properties of the egg so the speedy method of egg preservation is better however no clinical evidence has been given for the same. Thus the embryologists use both the methods for freezing the eggs.
